What Does TVA Do During the Summer?

What has summer been like for you? Maybe you feel like someone hit the summertime fast forward button. Or, maybe summer seemed to last forever.

This summer has definitely been different than any summer before. Usually, summers at TVA are a time for big projects to get the school ready for the first day of school. This year, we also added the huge task of preparing TVA for a safe school re-opening this fall. One thing that is missing during the summer is the happy chatter from our students! The school is not the same without you!

Do you ever wonder what your teacher does during the summer?

You might think that teachers sit by a pool all day and eat ice cream on hot days. Or, maybe you’re picturing your teacher sitting on the sand at the beach reading a book.

Did you know that teachers do a lot of learning during the summer? They take classes, read books, and think of new and fun ways to prepare for the school year. They enjoy preparing their classroom for you! That is why TVA teachers are so amazing!

TVA teachers work hard all year long and that is why they also take time to rest during the summer. Being a teacher requires a lot of energy because they are doing their best all day. They have to rest from being so awesome during the school year. This summer teachers have been working extra hard to prepare for you and they can’t wait to meet every single one of you!

Did you know that Jesus rested too? He did! In Mark 4:35-40, Jesus fell asleep on a boat. He must have been so tired.

Have you been so tired that you fall asleep right away? That’s your body telling you that you need to rest. Jesus tells you to go to Him and He will give you rest.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.

What a beautiful and reassuring promise He gives us.

What did you do to rest this summer?
