Progress Report: Senior Academy (High School) Application
WE HAVE FANTASTIC NEWS! TVA HAS RECEIVED APPROVAL TO PURSUE SENIOR ACADEMY STATUS FROM THE OREGON CONFERENCE EDUCATION COMMITTEE AND FROM THE OREGON CONFERENCE K-12 BOARD OF EDUCATION!
This was a major hurdle for us, and God has been leading in so many ways. Thank you for your prayers, and please keep praying!
HERE IS WHERE WE ARE AT IN THE ACCREDITATION PROCESS:
The North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, our accrediting body, will send a committee for an on-site visit likely this spring to evaluate our request.
If all goes as planned, TVA will receive approval to offer 11th and 12th grade courses by Fall of 2023, which means we can offer 11th grade beginning in Fall of 2024.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR STUDENTS AT TVA?
Enrollment for 9th graders will open at the end of January.
9th-grade students who attend TVA in the fall of 2022 will be our first graduating senior class.
HOW WILL HAVING HIGH SCHOOL ON CAMPUS IMPACT THE K-8 PROGRAM?
High school students add to the whole school experience. They are mentors, leaders, and helpers.
Adding high school increases enrollment which will allow TVA to increase music and PE staff time for K-8 as well as add high school classes.
While we already have the physical plant that will fit a high school on campus, we have engaged designers to help us optimize our layout, define needed physical plant improvements, and develop a campus master plan. This will benefit the entire school.

Our high school program focuses on whole-person wellness, applied learning, and student choice. Students who successfully graduate from our fully accredited high school program will be college and career-ready.
