10.10.19 Thursday Note
Is your volunteer background check up to date?
Student safety is a top priority for us! Remember, in order to attend field trips with your student or volunteer in the classroom, you must have a current background check on file.
Applications take 4 weeks to be processed, so submit yours today if you plan to volunteer this year!
If you need an application or are unsure if your clearance is up to date, ask Yarely at TVA’s front office or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
It’s that time of year. We are already seeing illnesses pass around the school, and sick days mean fewer days our kids (and teachers!) are in school, learning.
Please see our health and safety page for health department-recommended symptoms your child should stay home for, a kid-friendly video about how to knock out germs, and other illness resources.
Teaching your child to do these three simple things will help us stop the spread of germs:
Wash your hands frequently, especially after touching your face (sing Happy Birthday twice or use hand sanitizer!)
Avoid touching your face
Cough and sneeze into your elbow
Thank you for helping us keep our students and staff healthy!
Each year the State Health Department sets a date when students without complete immunizations or exemptions are sent home and not allowed to return to school until the requirements are completed. This school year’s deadline is January 15, 2020. If your student is missing vaccination information, we will reach out to you to complete the information.
Yarely is currently going through the immunization records. If you have received a letter from her, please make sure your child’s immunization records are up to date.
