Upcoming School Events
Pathfinder Club at TVA
Pathfinders is a kids’ club for students in 5th-12th grade offered by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is faith-based and similar to Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts. Pathfinders earn honor patches, go camping, and learn other leadership and life skills.
The westside Seventh-day Adventist churches have recently combined their clubs and begun meeting at TVA. Our TVA students are welcome to join Pathfinders. If you would like for your student to come for an evening to see if they’re interested, that’s fine too.
One big event we have coming up in the summer of 2024 is the International Pathfinder Camporee in Gillette, WY. This is a chance for our students to meet other kids from around the world and have a lot of fun in a Christian environment.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SERVICE HOURS
TVA asks each family to actively participate in school life by contributing 20 service hours per family each year (10 for single-parent and preschool families). These volunteer hours help make sure the school has the resources we need to host important school and community events, support our teachers throughout the year, and maximize any funds we raise.
Service hours and service events are reported using this Google Form. Parents are responsible for accurately tracking their service events or hours.
Home and School Association coordinates and tracks each family’s required service hours, and has provided status updates periodically throughout the year. If parents are unable to contribute volunteer hours, there is an option to pay $10 per required service hour instead. Contact Karen Stiltner or Michelle Reina to contribute in lieu of service hours.
Service hours may be logged for the 2022-2023 school year through 6/20/23. Any unfulfilled service hours will be charged on your 7/1/23 statement. If you are unsure of your service hours status, please reach out to Heidi Thompson (heidichristine@gmail.com) or James Kundart (kundart@gmail.com) for an update.

HAndbell Choir and 3/4 Choir PERFORM at Forest Grove SDA Church SaTURDAY, April 15
TVA’s Handbell Choirs and Third and Fourth Grade choirs have been practicing for months and now and they will be performing on April 15th at 10:30am at the Forest Grove SDA Church. You are all invited and we hope to see you there!
Students, please arrive at the time set by Mrs. Humbert and Mr. Blackburn - see your email. Handbell choirs, please wear the same attire as you wore at the Christmas program.

In Case You Missed It: Color Battle TOMORROW!
We started our Color Battle Fundraiser last week Monday and will be concluding tomorrow Friday with The Color Battle itself! The Fun Run Fundraiser will start early May. More info to come later this month.
In Case You MisSED IT: NO SCHOOL ON APRIL 17TH
There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, April 17th. Teachers will be having a Professional Development day.
In Case You Missed It: MAP TESTING April 18-28
It’s that time again! We’ll be doing MAP testing April 18-28. Please be sure your student gets a good night’s sleep and eats breakfast.
In Case You Missed IT: REPORTING ABSENCES
Please make sure to call the office or email to report any absences. If student will be absent for more than 2 days due to a vacation or any other circumstance, please make sure to fill out the Student Extended Absences form.
