The Last Of The Dragons
We are nearing the premiere of our spring play! Our students involved this year have poured their hearts into this project and we cant wait to see all your smiling faces in the audience on Thursday May 23rd at 7 PM ($3) or Sunday May 26 at 2 PM ($5)! The show runs about an hour.
Join us in the kingdom of Middlefield, a place somewhere between medieval and current times, to embark on a journey about friendship and embracing who you truly are. Our Princess and Prince discover what it means to appreciate people for their individual strengths and weaknesses and not to believe rumors at face value. Join us for this fictional fairy tale for laughs and life lessons put together for you to enjoy by our volunteer led theater club. All proceeds will benefit the continuation of providing this fine art extracurricular club for free through the Home and School Association.

God’s Closet at Hillsboro SDA Church will be held on Sunday, May 19th from 9-1 PM.

End of Year Library News
Thank you, parents, for helping your students remember to get their library materials turned in as we wind down the school year. This will make our inventory process much easier. Notices will be sent out the week of June 3rd for students that have fines or lost books. Fines are payable in cash only at the office. Please put payment in an envelope with your child’s name on it and turn it into the office.
If your student has a lost book, it may turn up during inventory. If that happens, I will contact you via email. All charges for lost books will appear on your June statement.
Important dates for the rest of the school year:
May 17 - Last day of check out
May 24- All library materials due, last day of library classes for the year.
May 28- June 12 -Library closed for inventory and cleaning.
June 11- Last day to pay overdue fines, unpaid fines will be added to your end of year bill with an additional $3 fee.

9th & 10th Grade Fundraiser at Chipotle from 4-8 PM.
The 9th and 10th grade classes are holing a fundraiser at Chipotle on Tuesday, May 28 from 4-8 pm. 4530 NE Cornell Road, Hillsboro, OR 97124 This fundraiser will help raise funds for Bible Camp for next fall.
Parking Lot and Crosswalk Safety
To ensure everybody's safety, please yield to pedestrians as you drive in and out of the school's parking lot. Morning and afternoon times are very busy in our parking lot with cars coming in and out and parents and students walking to and from the school. Please remember to drive 5 MPH and be cautious of people walking through the parking lot. We are working on painting some walking/crossing areas in the parking lot this this summer. If you are driving west (going right) when you exit the parking lot, another option is to drive to the far exit by the west parking lot (by the Junior High/High School building). This will help shorten the line of cars exiting from the main entrance. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the principal. !

Who: Anyone going into grades 3-8 (boys and girls)
What: A five day camp for both beginner and experienced players. The camp is designed to teach the basic skills of volleyball including serving, passing, setting, hitting, and basic footwork, as well as foser love for the sport of volleyball.
When: June 17-21st
Time: 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM
Where: TVA Gym
Instructors: The camp will be run by Sarah Halversen and Kaiulani Chamberlain. Saraha nd Kaiulani both graduated from TVA, played on their high school and college teams, and have coaching and camp experience.
Cost: $75 if you register by June 14th, $100 after June 14th
Registration: To register please send an email to Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org with your child’s name and grade. A registration form will then be emailed to you. The registration form and fee will be collected the first day of camp.

8th Grade Fundraiser!
Anytime throughout the school year if you go to Godfather’s Pizza across the street from our school they will donate 20% of your purchase to our 8th Grade Class. All you have to do is mention TVA. Thanks for your support!
Mrs. Wendt’s STEMS Classroom Fundraiser
Mrs. Wendt’s classroom STEMS fundraiser starts on Friday, October 26. See’s Lollypops will be sold for a dollar each and the See’s Chocolate candy bars for two dollars each. We have Vanilla, Chocolate, Cafe Latte and Butterscotch Lollypops. Stop by the front office to purchase your See’s Candies and help support Mrs. Wendt’s classroom STEMS fundraiser!
We need volunteers for the following events/tasks:
Recycle used ink cartridges.
The refrigerator in the Elementary building needs to be cleaned out once a month.

Parents with students in K - 10th grade, just a reminder that in order for you to be able to participate in any school field trips, coaching, and/or volunteer in your child’s classroom, you need to turn in the Oregon Conference Volunteer Information Form ASAP.
If you have a child in our preschool program, you need to complete the CBR form and mail it to the address on the form. When you receive your approval, please bring a copy to the office. This form is used to run a background check on adults that want to help out at school/go on field trips.
If you need a form, please stop by and pick up a form or call the office and we will be happy to mail you a form.
Prearranged Absence Form
During the school year, if you are planning on going on vacation and your child will be absent from school for more than 1 day, please maker sure you complete a prearranged absence form 1 week before the event. This will give their teacher time to prepare the work your child will be missing during his/her absence.
If you need a form, you can pick one up at the front office or we will be happy to e-mail it to you.
