Sarah Irvine, Athletics
We are excited to have TVA alumnus Sarah Irvine leading our Athletics department! Sarah majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Physical Education at Walla Walla University, and she is excited to be back at TVA.
Mrs. Irvine is well known both for her gift for working with kids and for her love of God. When asked why she wanted to become a teacher, she said:
I believe that teaching is a calling. Ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I want to be a teacher so I can share with kids how much God loves them and to teach them that they have a voice that they can use to make a positive difference in the world.
The thing I love most about being a teacher is the relationships I make with my students. I can’t wait to meet everyone and get started!
Sarah loves to read and talk about books, and she is looking forward to having some great discussions with her students this year.

Bucket list item: Skydiving
Least favorite food: Mayonnaise
Biggest fear: Avalanches, and I really don’t like bees. (Sorry Mr. Kahler)
Proudest accomplishment: Making First Team All State for basketball in high school
Snack of choice: Chocolate covered almonds or Boom Chika Pop
Qualities I most admire about others: Being considerate, honest, loyal, kind, and respectful
I’m inspired by: People who work hard to accomplish their goals
Least favorite household chore: Taking out the garbage
One thing I hope to achieve in my lifetime: Travel to all seven continents
As a kid, I wanted to be: A teacher. I even wrote it in my kindergarten journal.
3 words to describe myself: Caring, sporty, adventurous
If I could be any literary character, I would be: Miss Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series. I love her enthusiasm for teaching and her dresses!
In my free time, I like to: Hike, play sports, bake, and spend time with friends and family
Farthest I’ve ever travelled: Turkey
Favorite place I’ve ever travelled: Iceland. It was absolutely beautiful.
Sport I love: Basketball and volleyball (tied between the two)
This store has a lot of my money: Loft!!!
If calories didn’t count I would eat/drink: Peppermint hot chocolate and any lemon dessert
Best movie ever was: High School Musical
I’ve never: Liked coffee
