Michael Blackburn, High School Technology, History, Yearbook, Handbells, Band, and IT

Mr. Blackburn teaches High School Technology, Yearbook, Handbells, Band, and History.

Michael loves all things technology, from photography to 3D modeling to programming, and he is combining his knowledge, experience, and love of these subjects to inspire students to learn these important life skills.

As an original member of Ring of Fire, TVA's world-renowned handbell choir, Michael has returned to teach bells at the school to give current students the chance to learn to play handbells like Ring of Fire did. He has also played the French horn, flute, and piano.

Michael has a Masters of Architecture with an emphasis in Urban Design from Andrews University. One of his favorite memories from Architecture school was the month he spent in Europe studying history, architecture, and urban design. He has also been a freelance designer, doing videography, photography and graphic design, and in his free time he renovates his home. Though not the typical background for a teacher, his experience brings a wealth of knowledge to TVA, and we are glad he is part of the TVA team!
