Dear Parents,

It is very close to feeling like Spring outside and we have some awesome Spring related activities coming up, both schoolwide and for our class. The first and biggest event is TVA’s annual walk-a-thon. This is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year and is really fun for the kids as well. Notes are being sent home this week with all the information needed about both the fundraising and volunteering options for this event. I am willing to sponsor 50 cents per lap for each child as well.

In our classroom we have been discussing the changes Spring Brings and will be learning about specific Springy things like birds, flowers, and butterflies. In math we are learning how to expand our number sentence knowledge to bigger 2 digit numbers. In Language Arts our new letter next week will be our last vowel “O”.

Sincerely,

Clark L. Woodworth

Dear Parents,

It was a fun short week and it was wonderful to see everyone again. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break and is ready to finish out the year strong!

Next week we will be continuing our math section about subtraction and number sentences. I was really impressed with how the students remembered this stuff when we reviewed it this week. Also next week our new letter of the week will be “G”. We will also begin studying a unit on Spring next week.

We also have some other announcements. The first being we need more juice for our classroom so if you could bring some juice next week I would appreciate it. Also I will be gone Tuesday Morning of next week for a doctor’s appointment.

I will also be putting a sign up sheet out next week for Parent Teacher Conferences which are on Monday, April 10. These conferences are not mandatory.

Sincerely,

Clark L. Woodworth

Dear Parents,

One more week to go until Spring Break. Next week will be a busy one as we try to finish everything before the break. We are doing a couple of big projects next week in both math and science as we prepare for open house next week. Also next week we will have a review week for our letters.

Also we have our 3rd Kinderkonzert next week on Wednesday, March 15 about the woodwind family of instruments. I will send permission slips home with this note. Again for the Kinderkonzerts I can only take 2 parent volunteers so if you would like to go let me know.

Sincerely,

Dear Parents,

We are getting back into a groove in Kindergarten and it has been a fun week. We finished our week of the letter “b” and next week we will be learning about the letter “f”. Also we will continue our new math chapter which talks about subtraction.

In social studies/science we are learning about the systems that help make our body work. We will be beginning a big project in this unit that will be done in time for open house and Spring Break.

We have the second part of our ArtmSmart project next Tuesday, March 7. Again any and all parent volunteers are welcome for that. Also I will be gone on Monday to coach the 7th and 8th grade boys in the Friendship Basketball Tournament at Portland Adventist Academy.

Sincerely,

Clark L. Woodworth
