Dear Parents,

Another week down, only 3 and a half to go. Next week we have two events planned. The first is our OMSI trip which most of you have already turned in a permission slip for. I have extra if anyone needs them. Also our last ArtSmart of the year will be next Thursday the 25th at 1:00. We need volunteers so if you can be there for that please let me know.

We found our letter “x” this week which was officially our last letter to learn about for the year. The rest of the year we will focus on letter families (sh, ch, etc.) and sight words.

In math we are continuing our lessons on place value. Through the rest of the year we will try to get through basic shapes and begin to talk about time and money. Also in science and social studies we will continue to talk about plants/farming in a unit that was started by our awesome Plumper Pumpkin Patch field trip.

Sincerely,

Dear Parents,

It is very close to feeling like Spring outside and we have some awesome Spring related activities coming up, both schoolwide and for our class. The first and biggest event is TVA’s annual walk-a-thon. This is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year and is really fun for the kids as well. Notes are being sent home this week with all the information needed about both the fundraising and volunteering options for this event. I am willing to sponsor 50 cents per lap for each child as well.

In our classroom we have been discussing the changes Spring Brings and will be learning about specific Springy things like birds, flowers, and butterflies. In math we are learning how to expand our number sentence knowledge to bigger 2 digit numbers. In Language Arts our new letter next week will be our last vowel “O”.

Sincerely,

Clark L. Woodworth

Dear Parents,

It was a fun short week and it was wonderful to see everyone again. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break and is ready to finish out the year strong!

Next week we will be continuing our math section about subtraction and number sentences. I was really impressed with how the students remembered this stuff when we reviewed it this week. Also next week our new letter of the week will be “G”. We will also begin studying a unit on Spring next week.

We also have some other announcements. The first being we need more juice for our classroom so if you could bring some juice next week I would appreciate it. Also I will be gone Tuesday Morning of next week for a doctor’s appointment.

I will also be putting a sign up sheet out next week for Parent Teacher Conferences which are on Monday, April 10. These conferences are not mandatory.

Sincerely,

Clark L. Woodworth

Dear Parents,

One more week to go until Spring Break. Next week will be a busy one as we try to finish everything before the break. We are doing a couple of big projects next week in both math and science as we prepare for open house next week. Also next week we will have a review week for our letters.

Also we have our 3rd Kinderkonzert next week on Wednesday, March 15 about the woodwind family of instruments. I will send permission slips home with this note. Again for the Kinderkonzerts I can only take 2 parent volunteers so if you would like to go let me know.

Sincerely,

Clark L. Woodworth
