Come join our TVA family! Learn about each of our classrooms.

Preschool

In our Preschool program students aged 3-5 experience hands-on learning through centers and activities. Class sizes are small and our teachers help each student understand that they are known and loved by their teachers and by Jesus.

Kindergarten

In Kindergarten learning is active, purposeful, engaging, and fun! Mrs. Bredall uses hands-on learning activities in the classroom such as letter of the week bags to teach letter sounds or hatching baby chicks to teach about life cycles. She helps students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

First and Second Grade

Mrs. Wendt’s first and second grade classroom focuses on teaching students to learn to love school, reading, and much more. She builds curriculums around a theme that captures her students’ attention and helps them learn without realizing they are learning! Mrs. Wendt helps kids learn to love school and Jesus for a lifetime.

Third Grade

Mrs. Halversen's third grade class is jam-packed with hands on learning! See how she helps students learn to love reading, grow their creativity, and gain public speaking skills and confidence. Her students learn about the gifts God gives us and how they can share their gifts with their community and the world.

Fourth Grade

Mrs. Aldrich helps her fourth graders love learning through hands-on activities and active learning. STEM projects are a highlight in her classroom, tying science, technology, engineering, and math skills into the rest of the classroom curriculum in a fun and exciting way!

Fifth Grade

Mrs. Clifton's class is full of adventure! She uses creativity and hands-on activities to make learning fun and she helps her students understand how they can use their talents for God.

Sixth Grade

Mrs. Youker encourages her sixth graders to ask questions and think critically, skills they will take forward with them through the rest of their life. Her students are encouraged to think about kindness in all situations, and she teaches them to share kindness and Jesus' love not only in the classroom but in their community and the world as well.

7/8 Bible, Language Arts, and Applied Skills

Ms. Halversen teaches 7th and 8th grade Bible, language arts, and applied skills. She walks students through examining the life of Jesus and makes her classroom a safe space to ask hard questions. Her applied skills class helps students develop life skills and is a student favorite! Ms. Halversen's classroom is welcoming to all and her door is always open for students who want to talk.

7/8 and 9/10 Math

Mrs. Beck's math classes are hands on and engaging, helping students experience and explore math to become better, stronger math students. Her classes examine the ways that math explains the world around us to learn about God the Creator, and she helps students make sense of math in a supportive, encouraging environment.

High School

TVA’s high school program focuses on growing leaders via mentorship, leadership opportunities afforded by small class sizes, and hands on learning. The program is fully accredited through 10th grade, and we are working on accreditation for 11th and 12th grade so we can offer those classes as well. The curriculum is well rounded and includes areas of STEM/STEAM learning as well as special trips such as Bible Camp, the marine biology trip, and a yearly trip on topics related to the curriculum. Our students are known and loved by their teachers and they form close friendships with their classmates.

Library

Mrs. Coggin is our school librarian and she is an incredible resource for our students and teachers. She curates the library inventory to support student learning and coordinates with teachers to supply reading materials that support what is being taught in the classroom. Our students love the library and Mrs. Coggin!

TVA Bells Program

TVA’s bell program is led by TVA alumnus Michael Blackburn who likes to say handbells are a team sport. Students of all musical abilities learn how to read music, music theory, rhythm, and more. Students learn teamwork skills, patience, and kindness, echoing God’s character to each other.
